Learning Sessions Include:
Using a Team-Building to Enhance Social Equity
Heidi AbiNader, Principal, Sharpsville MS
Working within the psychomotor, cognitive, and affective domains, students will participate in activities that teach them how to collaborate, build trust, problem solve, and communicate effectively. The skills developed will help prepare students to face the challenges of adolescence. Additionally, a stronger sense of school community will strengthen our school discipline model, Restorative Justice/Youth Court. Students will complete self-assessments regularly to demonstrate growth in self-esteem and empathy.
Experiential Learning
Anneliese Ledebur, Teacher, Titusville MS
Kolb’s experiential learning model can be used in any middle level classroom regardless of content. This model is ideal as it is low cost and requires minimal set-up. During the session, presenters will demonstrate the experiential learning model through many hands on activities. Attendees will leave the session with various examples of classroom application and resources.
Come join fellow middle-level teachers, faculty and staff members for a night of professional development geared to your favorite age group….YOUNG ADOLESCENTS! It will be a time of networking, brainstorming, and most of all fun. So register now for this event!
