Virtual Middle School Summer Camp
August 7-11, 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Offer your students experiencing homelessness a unique virtual summer enrichment program!
When students experiencing homelessness head into the summer months, they may feel anxious and unprepared for another school year to start. ECYEH’s Build Your Best School Year! virtual summer camp is designed to provide the skills and self-confidence middle school students will need to start the 2023 school year on a high note.
Students entering grades 6-8 in fall 2023 who reside in Pennsylvania may attend. Priority is given to students experiencing homelessness.
Each camper will receive a Welcome to Camp kit including a free Amazon Fire 7 tablet, supplies for camp activities, school supplies, and a special surprise to kick off the start of camp!

The Pennsylvania Game Commission invites Pennsylvania students in middle school, grades 6 through 8 and high school, grades 9 through 12, to participate in the American Marten Reintroduction and Management Plan Art Contest.
The American Marten was last seen in the state of Pennsylvania around 120 years ago. Now, the Pennsylvania Game Commission is considering reintroducing the American marten to the state. The Pennsylvania Game Commission is looking for artist representations of the American marten on suitable Pennsylvania landscapes to be featured in the American Marten Reintroduction and Management Plan.
Through this art contest, the Pennsylvania Game Commission hopes to:
The winning artwork will be displayed at the Pennsylvania Game Commission, 2001 Elmerton Avenue, Harrisburg, PA, from July 10 through August 11, 2023.

The University of Pennsylvania’s South Asian Center is offering three grants of $1,500 each for teachers to travel on GEEO's India and Nepal program running from July 30 to August 15, 2023. More information about the program can be found here.
Pennsylvania and New Jersey educators who apply before April 13th will be given special consideration, but anyone is welcome to apply at any point, and grants will be awarded on a rolling basis based on the quality of the applications, with preference given to educators from districts with limited resources.

Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to sharing their travel experiences in the classroom the following academic year. Grant recipients will be required to create a lesson plan by the end of the fall 2023 semester.
Applicants who are offered a grant will have 72 hours to accept the grant by completing the GEEO program's booking form and paying a $350 deposit. The grant will cover $1,500 of the remainder of the program fee. All travel costs not covered by the grant, including the balance of the GEEO program fee and international airfare, are the responsibility of the grant recipient. Round-trip airfare is approximately $1,900-2,000 from Philadelphia and $1,650-1,800 from JFK.
